A combination technician in the information and technology industry is involved in the installation of telephone cables, cable TV, and high-speed internet. He/she is also involved in the repairing and maintenance of the systems mentioned above.

Other duties include doing research on the areas where the equipment will be installed. This enables them to know the materials and other factors that may influence the way the devices or equipment receives signals.
